Sometimes, before we can fix a problem with your sewer, we need to take a look inside the pipe to see what’s going on. After we perform a sewer camera inspection, we know the nature of the problem, where it’s located, and the overall condition of the pipe.
Sewer camera inspections are also very helpful to have before buying a home or property.
What is a sewer camera inspection?
During a sewer camera inspection, a small CCTV camera on a long, flexible cable with a light attached is inserted into the sewer line, which can be from 2-24 inches in diameter. Using this special camera, we’re able to see and record the inside of the pipe, its condition, and any obstructions that might be present.
When inspecting smaller, residential pipes the camera is pushed or pulled through the pipe. With larger pipes (8-24 inches), the robotic sewer crawler camera is on wheels and driven through the pipe via remote control.
A sewer camera inspection doesn’t take very long, usually from 45 minutes to 1 hour tops.

Without a sewer camera inspection, it’s impossible to know the condition of your pipe. A visual inspection lets us see if there’s any damage or obstructions. Sewer inspection with a CCTV camera also enables us to locate the obstruction or damage.
